has anyone 'lost' their kernel? weird question? well... let me back up for a moment.

installed ubuntu warty-warthog pre- on a little i-book 2 - please note that after install, allowed ubuntu to get all the latest updates. very impressed with the install and operation of ubuntu. runs very sweet, and other than being *cough* handicapped with gnome as default...

here's the rub. went to boot up the i-book this morning... wouldn't boot. came up with the boot prompt... hit 'l' for linux... and it couldn't find the kernel. tried again.. no go. started to breathe rapidly... went looking for paper-bag. ok. tried again, this time hitting 'c' (install cd in cd drive). nope.

so now am re-installing.

am not extremely worried, i-book didn't have anything important on it at the time.

peace!
