I was just about to add some photos of snowboarding to Facebook. As the applet loads, I get this odd pop-up window. It has no bar at the top, covers the entire width of the screen, actually it takes up three sides of my desktop cube, and does not look like any Ubuntu window. I attached a screen shot of the first and last cube side.

I haven't done anything with it yet, just because of curiosity. I am wondering if it is the Firefox theme I am running. Anyway, have you guys seen anything like this? Is it safe? Either way, I will try to use their basic picture upload instead.

Laptop: HP DV9000
Ubuntu 8.10
Firefox 3.0.6
Theme: ELI 0.4

Thanks!

It looks like the java applet that facebook use has an error with its security certificate. The name Aurigma is the name of the company the made it, I found that in this blog post.

I would not run the code with an error like that in IMO. You could reset firefox to the default theme and see if it's the same. I don't use facebook btw. I'm sure that its a temporary error with facebook and you would be best to try again later.

Interesting. I retried it with the default theme and nothing happened. Oh, I am using NoScript, but with all the scipts from that page allowed.

From reading that link, it sounds like this is kind of a big security risk.

the uploader did not work? or it did work with no error?

if it worked with no error message then it is probably nothing to worry about. You can try enabling your other theme back on again and see if you have any problems.
