How would I fully remove the xubuntu-desktop ? I didn't like it. sudo apt-get remove xubuntu-desktop only removes about 42 KBs and leaves XFCE, etc.

You can't remove meta-packages like xubuntu-desktop. You have to remove all the components separately.

how does one go about finding out the packages to remove then ?
