connecting to windows domain??

i hav recently switched over to linux.however i am workin in an windows domain environment.

my desktop is part of lan and i am not able to add my ubuntu desktop in my windows domain environment...is it possible?? how to configure??

Is Samba installed? Can you access the Windows network from the Ubuntu machine?
Just a guess -- you might have to have a folder for sharing before you become visible on the network.
