I'm dualbooting Ubuntu and Vista on my Dell Latitude D630 laptop.
I've spent the last several weeks doing all sorts of things (though not much that would seriously disrupt it), pushed my Compiz too far and ended up with graphic corruption but managed to fix that. Anyway...
I waited a few days before installing updates, so during that time my Firefox was ******* up slightly before I realized I'd put off the updates, and after that it's working smoothly, but then suddenly my graphics driver and wireless disappeared. Last week for a day I got stuck with a 600x800 screen res, but after some rebooting it was back to normal.
Now if I go to Admin -> Hardware Drivers -> "No propietary drivers are in use on this system." and it's just blank. No NVIDIA graphics card, there was another one that I forget the name of (I think it was the wireless, 'cause that won't appear in Network Manager now).
Also, this week everything freezes at least once a day and I have to hold down the power key to reboot. I also tried running Stellarium and I got a notice saying "This system does not support OpenGL." I also uninstalled it along with a few other programs, and Hardware Drivers and my NVIDIA graphics card through the Add/Remove programs, and reinstalled the last two. Still no graphic driver shows up.
Any ideas on how to get back my graphics and wireless and stop the freezing?
