Ok,
So, I just recently used BootCamp to dual boot Ubuntu. I am very happy with it and have everything working just the way I like it.
I just ran in to a problem that I can't figure out very well though. When trying to access the OS X partition of my hard drive I can't access my home folder. Now, I know why this is. I have the home folder on my OS X partition encrypted using OS X's FileVault. I tried to turn it off so that I could access my files, but it is being a pain in the ***. While I am trying to figure out a solution, I was wondering if anybody here had an idea of how I could still access it from Ubuntu. I'm just flat out denied access even when I try to explore through it in the terminal. Keep in mind, these aren't password protected files, they are encrypted so it's not a matter of me not knowing a password or anything of the sort.
I guess I could also say what's going on on the other end of it. When I go to FileVault through system preferences, it does have an option for me to turn it off. When I tell it to it comes up with a dialogue that says that I don't have enough free room on my drive to de-encrypt. I have about 50 GB of free room on that partition, so I have no idea why it's saying that (it's saying it only requires 1.5 GB).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what to do.
