I had my system set up through Ubuntu to view my Video Card through System/Administration/Hardware Drivers. But the issue I was haveing was that my 3D Software's GUI kept on freezing up on me.

So I decided to install the driver manually from the ATI website. Doing so, I am running into this problem. Through the Terminal I, go into the installed directory and then source ati-driver-installer-8.563-x86.x86_64.run the following error occurs.

Created directory fglrx-install.x26397
Verifying archive integrity...head:
cannot open `bash' for reading: No such file or directory
Error in MD5 checksums: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e
is different from e77a867f0a3a49ccc227e2a1d3f7f3b7

Was it a good idea to manually install the driver, will it solve the GUI issue??

Any idea on whats going on??
