Hello,

I can view greek characters on the internet or when i write them myself at a text editor or word. When i download a .txt with greek language inside (eg an srt file) and open it, the text appears unreadable...

Any suggestions??

what are you using to open the txt files?

I had a similar problem with Arabic using the default text editor (gedit).
Try this:
- Open the text editor.
- Chose open from the file menu
- At the bottom of the open files windows you'll find character encoding, chose add or remove.
- Add the encodings you need.

I open the file with a simple text editor or even with word but the text is unreadable. However, when i boot into windows and open the same file, the text appears ok...

Thanks a lot Amarus, that was the solution! It worked.
