I'm not sure why this happens or how to solve it. It started when I kept getting locked out with the main password, initially I could log on as another user and re-authenticate my password, then this failed to work, so after a kind post from here I reset the password in recovery mode this failed to work when I just tried to use the same password again, and took 2 attempts to get a different password to work.

Now I can log in again but when I go to check my emails in evolution mail I get something like this come up

default keyring to unlock, and I can either deny of cancel

now my now current password doesn't work neither does my previous password, so I'm unsure as what I can do other than change package when I want to check my emails.

Thanks

John

The keyring uses a different password than your main login.

Well I haven't need it before, used or created one and don't how to remove it or what the password is, I've now found if I keep clicking deny it send me to the email which then asks me for the email password which I know I then have to click send and recieve to get the emails as it doesn't so this automatically now. Any clues

The keyring basically lets you use a master password to get access to all of your other passwords. Some people use them, most probably don't.

Depending on which version of gnome you're running, you could be using gnome keyring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNOME_Keyring) or seahorse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seahorse_(software)).
