Have you tried pdf edit? Its in the repository.

I can't say that I have used any of them (other than GIMP, but not for PDFs).

If your needs are simple, you can always set up a PDF printer and your documents will magically end up in the PDF folder of you home directory. And let me tell you, it was months before I found out that little tidbit. Kept wondering where the files were ending up....

Thanks for the suggestions but I was looking for something a little less clunky than pdf edit. specifically I'm looking for something that can easily handle java script.
