You need to give as much information about your problem as possible. Just saying you broke left click won't get you any useful replies.
Which version of Ubuntu do you have?
What were you doing when it broke?
What happens when you left click?
Do all your other clicks work?
Have you tried anything to fix it already?

ok im in ubuntu 8.10. i was playing around with compiz and i got an error message saying something like doing this could break left click and i hit continue anyway like an idiot. ive tried removing compiz through synaptic but can't without left clicking and i've tried booting into older kernels and left click doesn't work on them either

it sounds like you made the left click a shortcut for something in compiz. if you ctrl+alt+f1 you can get to a terminal to remove compiz, although im not sure if that will have any repercussions.
