View Full Version : [ubuntu] Lost ability to go wireless?

February 12th, 2009, 09:59 PM
I've had some issues connecting to the wireless (It would remember the WEP password incorrectly, but if I typed it in again after a couple of tries it would connect), but it worked.

Now, when I attempt to type in my password, I can't hit the connect button. If I add/subtract a few characters, I can hit connect, but obviously I won't be able to connect to the internet. Any advice? This is pretty frustrating, because I've been using ubuntu for about a week, LOVED IT, and now I have to use windows to go online.

are you sure it didn't reset to ascii or wpa?

Is that when it changes the pw from ********* to *****************************?
I used the WEP form to type in the pw, not sure why it would change from WEP to WPA.
If that's the case, how do I prevent this from occurring?
It's annoying to not be able to type in the correct password, why would the button disable?

In the help, the thing says to disable the acpi (or something like that, it's in the getting started tutorial), would that help?
