HI all, well I installed UT99 today and when I did, I installed it to /home/bill/ut folder. Problem is I cannot delete it because I don't have write permissions to my home folder? I installed it as root as per these directions.....http://www.princessleia.com/UT.php
The reason I want to delete it is because following this thread............http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=82987&highlight=Unreal+Tournament
says I have to make the changes to the UT data path, which I cannot do. Because I get blank gedits when trying the path noted or changing the path to /home/bill/ut and trying to edit said file. I just assume install it to the directory in the howto for sake of ease. I am open to fixing the install I currently have but not sure how. I tried I failed. :( I just don't want two installs on my system and reinstalling it also leaves me with only the option to install it in /home/bill/ut ....not /usr/bin ut (Default location I believe).
However........if I double click the sh ut file within the folder and click run the game loads and I can play it. If I move it or create a launcher, it is a NO GO...Any help here? Thanx in advance!
PS I prefer it in my Home folder with write permissions since I can easliy modify those files within..........but I want it to run correctly.
