I just visited the ubuntu site on dell.com and there is no mention of the Studio 15n... Am I missing something, or has dell pulled this machine?

Noticed that yesterday just as I was submitting my big Studio 15n guide. There are rumors over at the notebookreview.com forums about some sort of new screen for the Studio 15, so that could possibly explain the removal.

You had any problems w/ the wifi? My laptop is usually on a table connected to Gigabit ethernet, but the wifi card scans and connects to WPA-protected APs, which is really what I'd expect out of a wifi card.
I'm a bit miffed about the touchpad problems described in my guide (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1066382). Also, I would say build quality on mine is mediocre to poor. Lots of flex and gaps in the plastic. But hell, getting a Linux-compatible WUXGA laptop for ~$600 is pretty sweet, what should I be expecting anyways? I'm sure the XPS M1530n has a better build but I can't justify the $1,000 price tag and I most certainly don't want to deal with NVidia's proprietary drivers.

all u do is go to System (start 3) > Administration > Hardware Manager. Then enable and disable drivers as you wish. In our case, it was Broadcom STA > Enable. Wait for a heckload of time in Kubuntu or a snap in Gnome/XfCEUbuntu and done. Hello world.

On my system running Intrepid the STA driver being offered by the Restricted Drivers manager is redundant. See here for more info:

No actually the wifi works great, although I have most security stuff disabled on my router. It sees other routers in my vicinity though.
The only thing is that other distros aren't as friendly as Ubuntu is with the card. I run other nameless distros for school.
As far as the touchpad, I hate them and I disabled the 15n's right away. I use a trackball.
