When I uppgrade to Intrepid i got this strange problem.

Dropdown menus and rigth mouse button menus are all blank.
I cant se what writen in them and there for not get the programs to work.

The programs that has the problem is:

OpenOffice
Wine
FirstClass
Scribus

And there are some smaller grafic problems in comix and firefox

I have made prtscr of how my Wine , Scibus and OpenOffice looks like so you can se the problem.

Weird!!

It looks like a system fonts problem... maybe intrepid removed/altered previous fonts you were using?

Did you try

Menu>System>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts
and see if all those are good?

Even if they look like they should, I'd change and apply them all anyhow and see if it just forces something to reset. (I know I know, I'm not very specific.)

Also try restarting the X-server after changing the fonts.
(ctrl + alt + backspace).

Also, that looks like a system problem and not a Wine problem, so I'd try asking in General Help if you don't get if figured out.

I have updated all font tryed diffrent configs on the fonts.
Id i tryed a tip i got, close down all visual effects.

And all programs have been fixt by this exept wine.

Now my wine looks like this

When I first saw this thread, I wasn't thinking of an API layer :)


Keep trying different fonts or reinstall wine. I never had this happen in Linux, although it HAS happened at my school which uses Windows Xp. Look at the attached image.

I tried uninstalling and the reinstalling but it did not do the trick.:(
