Is there a way to disable the "preparing to delete" crap before deleting something in nautilus? I dont see the point of "preparing to delete" something and find out its size when you are going to delete it. This is especially bad when trying to use sftp or other remote protocols. In fact, if i am not wrong, this is what windos Vista does, and that cant be a good thing, not at all.

I was wondering about this too, especially since there are certain folders I've had to delete which contained tens of thousands of files! Deleting the files through Nautilus takes ages. It first "prepares" things (whatever that means) and then goes through SLOWLY deleting everything.

What happened to the days where you typed "deltree X" in a DOS command prompt and it just wiped everything out INSTANTLY? (There is likely an equivalent terminal command, but I don't know it.)

I'm for a quicker method too. I don't mind waiting an extra minute or two since I'm using a GUI... but this is just way too much.
