CS 1.6 doesn't load

Hey guys!

I have a weird problem. When I try to start up a new game/server in Counter Strike 1.6, on Ubuntu 8.10 with Wine 1.0.1., the game freezes after loading. (So that I cannot press ok and select a team etc.)
The game itselv starts up pretty normal and I tryed different renderes and experimented with starting from the console too but that didn't do the trick...
I hope someone can help me

Any interesting terminal error messages? Where does it bomb out at?

CS 1.6 has been working for me for more that a year now under wine. Please start the game from the terminal and paste the output.
