Someone has asked me to build a dvr system for them. They wanted it to be able to record TV as well as watch video from the net. I have chosen mythbuntu as the version of Linux to use and wanted to make sure that it is easy to access a browser to watch video on the net. Also any suggestions on a IR light for a wiimote would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a web browser plugin, MythWeb (see the mythtv wiki). I'm pretty sure it can show flash video, but I don;t have experience of it myself.

The web browser plugin is mythbrowser, not mythweb. Mythweb is for you to access the backend via a web browser.

So is that a yes there is a browser function for it? They want to be able to watch online videos as well as record. I was hoping Mythbuntu would have the Ubuntu behind it so they could have more functions than just a DVR.

You can switch out of MythTV and use Firefox with a wireless keyboard and mouse. If you have Firefox start up and then MythTV, you can probably just press Alt-Tab on the keyboard to bring it up and switch between them.
