Hi All,
I have been a long time Starsiege Tribes player, and have gotten it to work under Ubuntu 8.10 with wine.
I went to play this game under windows and the master server was gone. This got me to work on getting Tribes to work, under windows but as I am not at my windows machine all the time I was working under Ubuntu. I downloaded the free Tribesproject4 (http://www.troc.us/forum/showthread.php?t=17290) unzipped it to my WINE c drive and ran the tribes.exe and it ran!!!:)
To get it to work in fullscreen you can not have a res of more than 1280x1024 and I had to turn off compiz. Ok so now I have tribes running I needed a new master server, and I found one at

I used option 2 and copied and pasted the information into my serverprefs.cs file. If you do not have a serverprefs.cs host a game and this will create one for you. I have attached mine, just copy to the tribes/config folder and run the game.
You will have to do some game settings and that is easy from with in the game prefs. First is turn off music, as this can crash the game. Next is tweak the sounds to in the prefs to get it working. The rest is personal prefs.
Any issues reply to this thread and enjoy.
