I was wondering if the Linux version of java JDK and NetBeans IDE would work on ubuntu or if it's a commandline Linux version.I'm planning on getting a dell and I want to know if it will work.if not please tell me where I can find a ubuntu version.

Both will work.

You might need to add a repository (medibuntu) to get them if they are not in the default ones.
