Ubuntu-compatible netbook

I want to buy a netbook for my girlfriend. I was looking at the EEEPC series, but she doesn't like the design (the round joint). I know there is a special Ubuntu flavour (EEEbuntu) that surely works on these, but I'm not sure about others. As we're both Ubuntu users, I need it to be 100% compatible. Also: it should be availible in black color and have full-sized keys.

Could anyone please give me a tip what models to look at?
