fsck died with exit status 4

I successfully booted the os once. Now I get/dev/hda3 UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY (i.e without -a or-p options)
fsck died with exit status 4

HELP!

Need more information on what you're running this on. Is this an older powerpc? I would expect the drive to be /dev/sda3 not hda3. Easiest thing is just to pop in the liveCD and run fsck on the disk.
