A google search found this : http://forum.americasarmy.com/viewtopic.php?p=2636601
A deb file is often just a case of double clicking it as long as you have Gdebi installed (prettu sure Ubuntu has it by default). Give it a go :)

astromenace (http://www.viewizard.com/astromenace/index_linux.php) is a good game, and should be easy to install simply unzip and click on AstroMenace.
Wine should get easier to use as you continue to use Linux, one thing that might help is to create separate wine directories when you test games/applications.
wineprefixcreate --prefix directory_name

I found another one I've never actually played and it seems to have a very finished feel to it.
Warzone (http://wz2100.net/)
You can get it for Ubuntu here (http://www.getdeb.net/search.php?keywords=warzone+2100).

Battle for Wesnoth (wesnoth.org) is my favourite game. If you like turn-based strategy games, this game is for you.
