i inherited an ubuntu server running on a sun server from the previous system administrator here and i didn't know anything about Linux before i started. im starting to catch up but have a major issue with the connection between the server and the nas. at seemingly random times the system will report back that the file system has went read-only and no files can be written to it.. the nas is mounted at /home and is in fstab to auto start.. it is an ext3 fs and a 4 tb nas. the server is running an nx client and matlab.. any help with this issue is most greatly appreciated.
