Auto magically jump 3 min into the show

I have set the following up to make sure that I don't miss the beginning and end of some showes that don't start and end on time for whatever reason.

Utilities/Setup>Setup>TV Settings>General>4th Screen
Time to record before start of show (in seconds) = 180
Time to record past end of show (in seconds) = 180

Now when I start watching a show I usually have to skip ahead 3 min to get to about where the show starts. I am trying to find a way that when I press play it auto magically jumps 3 min into the show if it recorded the extra 3 min at the beginning. Then if I am to far in I can rewind to see anything that I might have missed.

I don't know anyway to automatically jump 3 minutes into show upon pressing play in it for the first time, but you can direct seek.

Pressing "3" and the "i" (info) key will take you directly to the third minute once you are viewing the show.

Do you have commercial skip setup? Since it is mostly commercials between shows, this should cut out most. Also you can skip the the end of the next commercial break with a key. I think it is right arrow on the default setup.

Another option is to find out which shows/networks are the problem and adjust those start times individually, since as long as the time on your computer is right, it should be pretty accurate. On the off chance a bit of recording is cut off for me, usually it is from the end, and that is a lot easier to fix.
