I have read many "tutorials" about kino. from my underestanding it is the best way to edit video. All i want to do is get the video from my sony camcorder to the computer. Mabye delete a few min of video. thats it. i apologize if i somehow skipped an obvious guide. im just starting to get frustrated. this is not "vital" and i guess i could wait till i go back to america in 4 months but i'd rather not wait.

but kino is not working.
first it would show some kernal problem and the capture button just didnt work.

i found a tutorial and fixed that. now i click record and it gives me 10 seconds to press play on the camera. i do and nothing happens, ending with a small message saying capture failed...

ive spent the last 6 hours going through guides, tips, tricks etc. nothin works. is there a better program than kino? all i want is the video off the tape and on the computer.

(i am starting to suspect it might be the camera. It didnt work when i had vista - but vista didnt have drivers for my camera so that also might be the issue...)
