I have downloaded some of Pete's GPU plugins but I can't configure them in the Plugins + Bios section. I found this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=159987) thread which basically explains what to do:

When you're setting up your plugins, keep in mind there is a special thing you must do to get Pete's plugins to work correctly. You must place the plugins (the .so files) in the plugins directory, but you must place the binary configuration programs in the root emulator directory, with the emulator binary. Otherwise, the emulator cannot configure the plugins.

But I don't understand the two most important parts:

A) What are the 'binary configuration programs'?
and
B) Where is the 'root emulator directory'?

I've played with PCSX a LITTLE, but after hitting major problems with my joypad and input plugins, I eventually reverted to running ePSXe with wine, which works just as well, if a little slower. I would recommend this if you REALLY can't get PCSX working. Think of it as an alternate solution, if you can't make PCSX work out for you. (iirc, ePSXe also has an out of date Linux version, which you may want to try, if you are comfortable compiling from source...)

Thanks Wisp558. I just used ePSXe through wine in the end and it works perfectly. This is good too because I preferred using ePSXe anyway back when I was using windowz.
