Hi,

I have a Mini9 & have been using it for a while. I currently have 8.10 on it but I remember the 8.04 being a bit snappier. I also remember that 8.04 was a bigger PIA due to the LPIA :)

My 8.1 has everything (including sound) working just fine for my needs. I was thinking of trying the 8.04 LPIA & using the force command for installing 386 deb files.

Anyway, I am guessing there has been plenty of testing & I was curious how both versions are working out.

Thanks,
Rich

I haven't tried lpia, but I installed vanilla intrepid on my mini9. Pretty happy, seems <------------------------------> much snappier than WinXP that was on it previously.

Haven't done much tweaking to the default Dell LPIA 8.04, apart from installing OpenOffice 3.0.

There is a deb2lpia script in this forum to convert .debs from i386 if necessary. It appears to work reasonably, but I haven't done any extensive testing..

Fits the bill for my needs just fine.
