One netwirk card intefering with other?

I've set up network between 2 pc's the ubuntu box is connected to internet then networked to client via eth0.

I can ping from client, but so far nothing else.

Also when I have the network card that interfaces with internet and one that intefaces with client, the internet stops working... hmmm

Any help or advice?

Intrepid? Multiple interfaces seems to be tricky. How do you have them configured? NM apparently can manage only one at a time.
