Hey all, I have been trying to use Google Earth, but whenever the program loads it automatically shuts off. I am using a Intel Chipset (Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller) for graphics. I would like to use GE in Linux. I have the Compiz Fusion Icon addon installed, and changed my 3d settings, but it does not work. Any suggestions?

Which version did you install, and how?

I am having a similar problem.
I'm not sure which version of GFoogle Earth it is, but the download was called GoogleEarthLinux.bin.
I followed instructions for installing a .bin file and it seemed to work ok.
However, when I try to run Google Earth, the program opens up, I see a small message at the bottom of my screen that says "initializing" and then the program (Google Earth) shuts down.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am using an Nvidia video card and my 3D graphics seem to be working fine (3D cube, etc)

Version 5.0 is not working at the moment.
I had problem with Google Earth in Synaptic Package Manager,
so I downloaded version 4.3 from Google site.
Before I installed it I deleted /home/my folder/.googleearth folder and
/opt/google-earth folder (using PCman filemanager as root)

Sudo -i /home/my folder/Desktop/googleearth-linux-plus-4.3.7284.3916.bin

Hi Ringi,
I did the same and removed version 5, installed the previous version and it works fine.
Thanks again for your help
