View Full Version : [ubuntu] Netwok Manager with Multiple Local Accounts

February 4th, 2009, 02:10 AM
Here is my issue,

I am settings up a Ubuntu 8.10 desktop for use at a location with 5 users, all users will have their own account. The problem I am finding with network manager is how to make network manager work with multiple accounts. The pattern I am setting is that if I setup the wireless network connection for userA, everything works fine for that user. If I restart the computer, and log in as userB, that users can't connect to the wireless without setting up the wireless key again for this user.

I guess my problem is that I cant figure out how to setup a persistent or system profile using network manager. I have checked the "system setting" checkbox, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I heard on 8.10, it is possible to have system wide settings for NM, but I can't figure it out nor find much documentation.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer any assistance.
