Hi !

Is there a way I can assign a (unused) remote button so that when pressed Mythbuntu goes to "listen to music" ?

Perfect would be if this worked from anywhere within mythbuntu, but I'd be happy if it only works from the main menu.

I'm thinking a script that is executed when the button is pressed, however have no idea what that script would need to look like.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Come on. There's got to be someone else that wanted to do something similar.

There is a 'Play Music' JumpPoint in mythweb under the keybindings section. You can assign a key from mythweb, or you if have the mythcontrols plugin installed you can assign a key via the frontend. I am not sure exactly what that JumpPoint does, but I would assume it plays music.

Thanks. Is there anywhere I can find out more about jumppoints, mythcontrol etc. ?

Or can you give me a few more detailed pointers on how to go about this ?

Had a quick look, not sure what I'd have to do.

Fantastic, worked like a charm.

I now have wonderful shortcuts to music, recordings, livetv, photos, video via the extra buttons on my remote.

Thanks a lot !
