I have installed UFO:AI on my laptop, but when I attempt to play it, I am faced with heavily pixelated graphics. The entire screen looks blurry and/or pixelated, and I can't make out what the menu reads. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 2200 (running 8.10) and this is what I get when I looked for my graphics card using the terminal.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03)

Is this a problem with my graphics card? If it is, should I upgrade? And what are some recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, sorry if this is a noob-like question with an easy resolution. I am a teenager and have learned about Ubuntu and other open-source OS's all on my own, and am still learning about the OS and computer upgrades in general. Thanks again.

Disable desktop effects and try again. They practically always cause these kind of problems.

Your graphics card is a piece of crap, but it should still handle UFO: Alien invasion, because that is based on the quake 3 engine, which is 10 years old

Yeah, I had a feeling my graphics card was no good. I got this laptop for free from a private school I worked at that was throwing out old systems.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll try it right away. :D
