Hi guys and gals,
I use DreamHost (http://www.dreamhost.com) and am very content with them.
They are very funny but at the same time offer professional service and support.
What hosting providers does every one else use and how do you feel about them?

I use Powweb ( http://powweb.com/ ) and have been very content with them. The only thing that might not be good for some people is that their 300GB bandwidth is actually 10GB/day. That's still really hott but I know some sites that get all their traffic clustered around a few days.

I've been with 1&1.co.uk for about a week and so far they seem very solid and fast, a bit pricey but I don't mind paying more for a good service as I have had a string of bad isp's in my past.
For very cheap domains which have web forwarding and email forwarding I'd recommend 123-reg.co.uk (who are now owned by pipex (big uk isp)). I was with them for a few years when I only wanted a domain for email and I never had any problems with their service, nor have I with pipex my broadband isp.
AVOID these at all costs:
ukhost4u.com - Constant cannot connect to this site errors. If they would have sorted that out they were otherwise a cheap and feature packed host.
streamlinenet.co.uk - mysql servers are slow. My phpbb forum generally took about 1 minute to load (it is only a small forum with about 8000 posts). At peak times my forum was unusable. Also only this week I had an email from these complaining that they could not draw money from my debit card for a renewal fee for a domain name... a domain name I had never even owned and clearly was owned by some other company. Thankfully the money was not in my account or I would never have seen it again.
dream-hosting.co.uk - my site went offline for days on end - I still have yet to have a reply from my support tickets, owner ignored users posts for help on their own forum, then suddenly one day the link to their support forum disappeared so potential new users wouldn't see how crap the service was.

For anyone in the UK I strongly recommend http://www.flump.net/
I have been using their services (as a reseller) for 3 years now. Before that I moved around a fair bit for several years, but wasn't ever happy with the service. I plan to stay with them.

I like full control as an admin so a virtual host is the only thing I use and few do it as well as unixshell.com. (running Hoary too!)

I've used MySiteSpace before, and they were very good. But, right now I host my self in my basement... I know of a few interesting ones though: www.surpasshosting.com www.hostgator.com and www.dreamhost.com they all seem nice :)

Godaddy has the best prices around.
When I make my site ill probably use them.

This thread seems like spam to me, but I'll play anyway.
I use Interland (http://interland.com). I've got 7 domains with them, and have been using them since 1996. Never had a problem, and their rates are VERY fair.

I'm with http://www.etglobalsolution.co.uk and they are the only people I would recommend.
£15 a year for 500mb space, unlimited doohickies :) and 5gb bandwidth a month.
