hi everyone

it maybe seems a totall crazy question but my shift key doesn't work properly

shift doesn't work at all (can't form capital letters with shift) but i can do with shift loc
alle the combinations with shift aren't working like: numbers (above the letters), forming a point

keys worked properly before (went wrong after 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg');

all the shift-functions aren't responding like: selection of files within nautilus, or selection of words, ;;;

i think i did choose the correct keymapping

i'm in belgium so: be, standard one hundred and five keys (all the rest defaults)

i hope someone can help me :-) of course i can provide more details if needed

Unless someone comes along with the right guess, you're stuck going through --reconfigure xorg again.

Guess you never made a backup of the file before doing the "sudo dpkg....xorg"?
No auto-backup created either? Did you check the file system? Some programs do an auto-backup before re-configuring/making changes.
