Hi, i've just d/ld unbuntu studio 8.1 and thought it would work out well. I'm having problems saving files in a format that Stop motion will use. So far .xcf is the only one it will use, and even then half the time when I open an image (especially if I open more than one at a time). If I do manage to get more than 3 images opened I cannot animate the thing. Is there a better program that can work with more extensions or are there plugins needed. I couldn't find any in synaptic. BTW, I was using Inkscape Vector, which has a limited amount of extension to save to.

I think stop motion is more about capturing stopmotion using a webcam or the like....
Will take a look at using it by hand....
Otherwise purhaps synfig studio--
Or Cinelerra (what I use)

It does appear that stopmotion is crashing when you try to import anything -- try images with very safe frame sizes say 640x480
