Hi folks,

I'm totally new to Ubuntu Studio and I have a couple of questions - thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I'm a musician trying to record myself, and I have a nice sony mic that I used to use with a mini disc. I want to use with a program like audacity or ardour, but when I record with it, it is always at a very low volume level. I think I turned everything up to the maximum that I could - in the program, and also through something else in the system, but I must be missing something because it's still quite faint.

One other quick question - I don't have wireless networking installed with ubuntu studio, although I know it came with regular ubuntu - how do I bring it into ubuntu studio?

Thanks for your help!

Best,

Ben

You may have already been here, but if you right click the speaker icon in the upper panel and then left click open volume control, you will find a number of settings you can play with.
