First of I apologize for my inexperience in Linux.

Originally I had the system working on Mythbuntu 8.04, then updated to 8.10. All was good except the crappy ATI card I bought, the drivers sucked. So I put in a new Nvidia card in and everything is good but I thought it would be good to do a clean install. I'm used to windows, the best way to clean things up is to do a clean install and not use uninstall feature.

Well I originally followed the instructions for Dvico Fusion drivers on this previous post http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=891270. It worked before but now it doesn't. My computer sees the card but can't find any stations. I have now idea whats going on. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi.

I am running Mythbuntu 8.10 AMD64 with all current updates. I had to install the drivers manually using the instructions found at http://mythtv.org/pipermail/mythtv-users/2008-August/229796.html After that, the tuner started working perfectly. However, my DViCO Fusion HDTV7 Dual Express card works fine until I receive updates. Every time I get an update for Mythbuntu it breaks the drivers for my tuner. The tuner seems active but it says "NO SIGNAL" on every station that I know I get.

To remedy the problem, I have to reinstall the driver, reboot the system, redetect the tuners in MythTV backend setup and then the tuner starts working again. It is such a pain that I have disabled updates for my system.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
Brian

Yea, I fixed my problem by installing mythbuntu amd64 8.04. Im gonna stay away from 8.10 if every time you update the drivers have to be reset. Even with updates on 8.04 it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for the response.
