8.04 Server on VMWare Server 2 - network card not detected

Hi,

I was running a 8.04 server on VMWare GSX on a winxp pro machine.
I have binned xp pro and moved to 8.04 desktop and installed vmware server 2 for running my 8.04 server and another VM of winxp.

The move across was fine. The winxp VM runs perfectly.

The 8.04 server, however, is no longer showing a network card.
If i run ifconfig i only see the loop back setup. eth0 is gone.

Both VM's are configured exactly the same way(bridged) on VM Ware server.

My linux is poor/non-existent - is there a way to re-detect the network card etc.
