Hi everyone,
I'm new to this whole Linux thing.
Personally I'm a Windows XP fan, but my XP no longer works for whatever reasons.
So I've found out that you can install Steam onto Linux and play HL2 games so I've been spending the last few evenings websurfing and reading up about Linux, and it's still jibberish to me! Ha.
I've installed Wine, and all the basic things...

I've tried quite a few different commands to install Steam:

1. wine SteamInstall.exe
2. wine msiexec /i SteamInstall.msi
3. wine start SteamInstall.exe

I keep getting this error(s):

1. err:msi:copy_package_to_temp failed to copy package L"/root/Desktop/SteamInstall.msi"
fixme:msi:MSI_OpenDatabaseW open failed r = 80030002 for L"/root/Desktop/SteamInstall.msi"

2.wine start SteamInstall.exe
fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000500
Application could not be started, or no application associated with the specified file.
ShellExecuteEx failed: File not found

Yeah, so all I'm trying to do is install Steam so I can play Counter-Strike 1.6, and to me seems to be near impossible. Haha

I don't know what any of those errors are...
I don't know how to find the fake C: so I can drop SteamInstall.exe in it...

I'm just CLUELESS, haha...

So just bare with me, I'm new. (:-p)
