Hi there people,

I post this here although I have been using Ubuntu for a little while longer already. Anyway, I previously had the option set of forwarding all my forum messages to my private email inbox. Somehow this option has been reset. How do I reactivate it (where is the button)?

Anyway, I tried to search this forum:

howto forward forum messages

and

forward forum messages.

Conclusion:

no luck.

Therefore I just ask.

Thanks a lot,

Thomas

Due to heavy server load lately some functions have been disabled, maybe that's why?

Moved to FF&H, you should be able to get more help here. :)

Hi there,

Thanks for the advice. Seems like the following things have changed:

* I had my posts forwarded to my private email address, which I have not changed since, but now my posts nor replies to these are forwarded any longer.

* I do not find a link on the index page to the code of conduct.

* I can find all the threads I have started on this account. When I search "all posts", I get two pages and can no longer open the second one.

Solution:

As a workaround I can bookmark all threads I have started and click: "Open all tabs". (see screenshot)

Unfortunately I cannot help you guys with server overload, so I will have to live with it. It would be an obvious improvement to the forum though!

Thanks for the kind help,

Thomas

Cool to see people from Brugge here. I am from (very near) Leuven/Louvain. Live in Belfast now.

Cheers,

Thomas

Not sure about your other questions but ...

* I do not find a link on the index page to the code of conduct.
The Code of Conduct link is located on the top menu bar under "Forum help". This element appears on ALL forum pages.

* I can find all the threads I have started on this account. When I search "all posts", I get two pages and can no longer open the second one.
I had this problem happen once. I tried it again and it worked fine.

Edit: I just searched your threads and was able to view all three pages.

Go to "user CP" then under "Settings and Options" select "Edit Options" and under "Messaging and Notifications" tick the box for "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages"

If you are wanting email every time you subscribe to a thread you can make the adjustments under "Default Thread Subscription Mode" of the "Settings and Options" menu.

Thanks people!

This solved all my problems.

Final comments:

dmizer:

The Code of Conduct link is located on the top menu bar under "Forum help". This element appears on ALL forum pages.

Correct, I should have found it if I had looked any further. You could consider a direct link to this, but I am not the server admin here.

I had this problem happen once. I tried it again and it worked fine.

I just mention it is a server side problem though, my connectivity is just fine.

Also the forwarding issue is server related, it just stopped. I did not even know where to change it.

Partyboi2:

If you are wanting email every time you subscribe to a thread you can make the adjustments under "Default Thread Subscription Mode" of the "Settings and Options" menu.

This is correct and solved my issues. One small correction:

It is: {"user CP" > "Settings and Options" > "Edit Options" > "Default Thread Subscription Mode"}

Not: {"user CP" > "Settings and Options" > "Edit Options" > "Default Thread Subscription Mode"} as suggested.

Also, I did not know CP stood for "Control Panel". Maybe because of my none native English speech?

Thanks for the friendly help,

Thomas
