I have a gateway laptop.
When I plug in the headphones with audio jacks the speakers mute but no sound comes out of the headphones. Everything is unmuted in volume control. If I start the computer with the headphones plugged in the sound comes out of the headphones but if I unplug the headphones and then plug them back in the sound doesn't come out of the headphones.
Basically:
Switching from laptop speakers to headphones - no sound
Switching from headphones to laptop speakers - sound
Turning on computer with headphones - sound
Maybe Alsa is muting everything when it switches from speakers to headphones. How would I fix that?
