im running 2x Intel core 2 duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26ghz
thats what my device manager tells me
i am wondering which version to download, i have the option of i386 or amd64, i though i386 is only for 32 bit processors, and amd64 is only for 64 bit processors (which were only amd to begin with)

so end of the story: my question is which version do i download?

ps. i am pretty sure my processor is 64bit, correct me if im wrong, or another way that i can check

It's 100% supported.

it's a 64 bit processor
so natively supports 64 bit OS's

it's only called AMD64, cause AMD got there first (before Intel), so they coined the name

a more vendor generic name is x86-64

No need to lock it, but you can mark it "Solved" by going up to thread tools. Good luck!

You can run either version; your Core 2 Duo is 64-bit capable and backward compatible with 32-bit software.
