View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installing Fonts in Wine and issues with Compiz

I'm trying to run some software in WINE, but it displays an error about the TTF font ariel. I've tried searching and couldn't find much about how to install the fonts. I know they go in /home/username/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts, but where do I find the fonts files to copy into there?

I'm also having an issue with Compiz. I have a dark grey/black theme, and whenever I run the program the whole screen turns black (same as the theme) and only a small section of the window is still visible. If I drag that window around, I can see my other apps/desktop/menu bars, but it happens every few seconds. Is there a way to run Wine apps smoothly with Compiz enabled?

Thanks for the help.

Edit: I have installed ubuntu-restricted-extras and remember something about it fetching quite a few TTF fonts, so I may have the files, but I don't know where they are stored.

Copy from a Windows machine or look around on google for a download of the ttf's.
