Ubuntu 8.10,

I purchased a new 16 GB Corsair Flash Voyager yesterday. Although Ubuntu automounts all my other USB flash drive (1 lexar and two unknown generics) it would not automount the corsair. I worked for 3 hours on the forums and tried all kinds of advice to no avail.

Then I tried
sudo gparted
after scanning I selected the corsair flash drive (sdc in my pull down list (I have dual hard drives) the I formatted the corsair flash drive to ext3. when completed and re-scanned then formatted back to FAT32.

Corsair usb flash now automounts like all the other with no further problems, read and write permissions.

I hope this may help others.
