I tried to change my old password corresponding to my admin powered account in ubuntu 8.10 using GUI but it still remains the old password eventhough I change it and no error comes.
I tried in System > administration > Users and groups ... and selected "set by hand" password and tried to change it... and I got the authorization message and I successfully authorised.. but still , it remains the same.
I also tried System > Preferences > About me > Change password button and I typed in the details but in this case , here , after pressing "change password" , the cursor turns to busy icon and it goes on like this for hours..
Can someone help me?? If you need anymore clarification request or any more details , do ask please.
