Hello,

I have got a movie (well, several movies) with the following characteristics:
Codec: AC-3 audio
Channels: Surround 5.1
Sample rate: 48000 Hz
Bitrate: 448 kbps

If i play this movie in stereo mode, i can hear all of the channels, downmixed to stereo.

But if i set the "5.1 device", i hear everything except the main voice channel where the dubbing-in goes usually. So i hear only background voices (in true 5.1).

My configuration: Ubuntu Jaunty with all latest updates, pulseaudio, SB Live! 5.1 (PCI).

I tried to use Totem and VLC player with different settings with no luck.

What can i do?

Thanks,
-Mike.

ah, okay. Something muted the "surround" channel.
Now it's alright except the sub. It's too quiet despite any settings in the mixer.
