Hi,

Objective: I have a full blown laptop with 2 gigs of ram with ubuntu installed onto a usb stick. I want to minimize writes to the stick.

I've googled and came upon this link but have not tried it yet.

http://www.ubuntu-eee.com/wiki/index.php5?title=How_to:_Reduce_Disk_Writes_to_Pro long_the_Life_of_your_Flash_Drive

I don't know what these do and it seems that some of these will make my ubuntu run into problems.

Can someone let me know of a tutorial on how to configure ubuntu to write to ram instead of to the usb stick? maybe via relocating the temp files to ram instead of the usb stick?

Appreciate your help.
