I'll admit that I hate captcha's - but I hate spam more so I realize they're now a part of signing up for things online.

That said the particular ones in use here are terrible - it took me no less than 6 times to figure out what the characters were. The way the text slants it's very difficult to tell if I'm looking at a G or a 6 or if that slanted H is really an H or maybe it's an N, no no maybe that 1 is really an L - you get the drift.

I would really consider changing things around - ubuntu is supposed to be about openness and community and bringing people together, what about those who are blind and use screen readers, or people like me that just don't want to mess around with trying to read the funny slanted characters?

Just to clarify to everyone - a captcha is the code you have to type in when signing up for things.

Little do they know... They are very easy to get past ;) A couple years back I knew someone who programmed VB and showed me how to get past them. I long forgot though :P

But back to the original topic. I agree. It is probably hard for people with not the best seeing to register.
