Hi guys, I've looked this up and I haven't found an answer so possible, mayebe, someone here would be able to help me. I just got an older pc and it needs a network card. The pc has an pci-x 33MHz bus and I need a network card for it. The question I haven't been able to figure out is: do I need to buy a pci-x network card that matches the pci-x bus speed or will say a pci-x 66Mhz card do? Anyone have a thought?

Here Orange Luna.
PCI-X buses run only as fast as the slowest device.

Just to let you know of the variations:
PCI-X - 32 or 64 bit, 5v, or 3.3v.

The 3.3v slot is keyed differently and won't allow a 5v card to fit in
So be careful when buying the network card.
Good luck.

I believe all pci-x cards are 3.3v. pci cards though come in two flavors: the older 5.0v cards, with the newer cards being 3.3v.
